Valley Shores
Valley Shores is a unique community located approximately 20 minutes from Omaha on the Highway 275 Expressway. It stands apart from other developments in that it contains a 42 acre lake as well as an 18 hole golf course, with all homeowners having access to each amenity. At this time there are 99 lake front lots and 39 golf course lots.
Developed in the early 2000’s, it took a while for lots to sell; but this has changed rapidly within the past few years. Strict covenants and homeowners looking for lakeside living with golf facilities have resulted in a lovely, quiet haven for many Omaha commuters. Homes are available in the mid $200,000 to $500,000 range depending on amenities and lot location. Lots can be purchased for $40,000+, also depending on location. One stipulation which has encouraged development is that home construction must begin within one year of purchase of the lot.
The lake is available for swimming, leisure boating and fishing with each lakeside lot having a private beach. The development also has a jogging and walking trail and is within a few blocks of Valley’s newer YMCA facility.
Children in the area attend public schools in the newly unified West Douglas County School District or parochial schools in nearby Elkhorn or Fremont. Churches, restaurants, shopping and entertainment are found in these towns, Valley or Omaha—all within a short drive of the community.
With its short commute to worksites in the Valley, Fremont, and Omaha areas, this is a popular community for anyone and everyone.
