IrvingtonLocated on the northwest edge of Omaha is the small, unincorporated village known as Irvington. In the mid to late 1800’s a farming and ranching economy developed in the area, a post office opened, and smaller businesses came to support settlers and this agricultural community. The town continued to modestly grow, but eventually the city of Omaha annexed much of the area and only a few retail outlets and original homes remain at this time. However, this does not mean that the Irvington community is not flourishing today. In the early 1990’s one of Omaha’s largest home developers purchased land near the original town site. Modest, family homes were built and the construction continues today.
